The changeover began a year ago when Ruut Pihlava was appointed head of division Large Corporates & Financial Institutions in Finland. Following the completion of a structured handover of deals, customer relations and company knowledge, the changeover will now take place on 1 September.
“With his experience, network and understanding of the Finnish business community, Marcus has in his role as Country Manager been instrumental in creating the strong position SEB has in Finland today. I now look forward to welcoming Ruut as Country Manager to the Extended GEC. I am convinced that with her experience, broad industry networks and drive, she will continue this positive development”, says Johan Torgeby
Ruut Pihlava joined SEB in 2008 and has previously been head of Financial Institutions Coverage in Finland, as well as head of Sustainable Banking in Finland.
“I look forward to building on the remarkable success of the Finnish franchise. We have a well-diversified business, a really strong team and leading position in client satisfaction - it’s a great position to develop our business further” says Ruut Pihlava
Marcus Nystén will stay on as Senior Banker and will continue to report to William Paus, with the task of supporting and developing SEB’s business in Finland as well as the Private Wealth Management & Family Office Division.
“It has been a pleasure to be part of the SEB growth story in Finland over the last 25 years. The teams in Finland and globally have positioned SEB at its best to our Finnish clients. The SEB community is exceptional in Finland and I believe our clients perceive this and want to work with our strong team. Thank you all for creating this strong team and culture, which we should continue to build upon. I will now hand over to Ruut and wish her all the best.” Marcus Nystén says
